Pictures of Shadow

Just wanted to share three candids of family pup Shadow. He was really freaked out by the fire, so they couldn't save him, unfortunately. Still, his cuteness is timeless, as you can see for yourself.

Benefit Plans - Door Prizes, Anyone?

One of Ernesto's old friends owns 1/2 a bar here in Brunswick and has graciously offered to host a benefit for our family to help with added (unforeseen) costs of rebuilding and replacing our belongings. Until the time and date is firmed up and announced, my God Mother has offered to have any donated goods for the benefit be sent to her house where she'll put together the gift baskets for the raffles and door prizes. This is a perfect time to unload nice new gifts you've received but cannot use, gift cards of any kind, wine or coffee packages, a few (of your season) tickets to any venue, artwork or anything you would think people would enjoy winning at our benefit!

GIFTS CAN BE SENT TO:
Faye Lu McDonald
8961 Springcrest drive
Brooklyn, Ohio 44144

Or
Andie Shank
1480 Troon Ave.
Brunswick, Ohio 44212 (this is the rental house State Farm put us up in)

I'll be back with pictures of the family, Shadow, the damage, the rebuilding process and benefit info. THANKS!

Aftermath Pictures

Here are some pictures of the house during the "cleanup" phase. As you can see, the house was pretty well gutted...

I think this might have been a bedroom:

Any possessions that couldn't be salvaged were pitched into a dumpster. The rental of a dumpster is one of the unforeseen costs when something like this happens...
Details of a benefit concert coming soon, so stay tuned.

Welcome!

On the night of January 10th, 2009, the Dysert-Shank-Rodriguez family gathered around to watch a movie. Little did they know that in another part of the house, a freak electrical fire had started that would eventually consume their entire home. Thankfully, Andie and the kids all made it out alive. But their beloved Chihuahua Shadow cowered under a recliner in all the panic, and he could not be coaxed out to safety.

This blog is dedicated to Shadow's memory, and will deliver news of "his people" (Andie, Grace, Nora, Ian and Sophia Shank; and Ernesto III, Billy, Marina and Ernesto IV Rodriguez) in the wake of this tragic accident. We'll post pictures of the old house and the new, news about benefit shows going on in the area, and updates from Andie, Ernesto and the kids. We'll also have a PayPal donation button soon, to help the "Brunswick Brady Bunch" through this rough patch.

For local folks, a "benevolent fund" has been established in the family's name at a nearby bank:
